Bolt I: Sacred Space
A sacred space is one in which you connect to the sacred and practice being your ideal self.
There are often rituals of entry and egress to sacred spaces. These rituals remind you that this place is sacred, it has a purpose beyond merely the enclosure and the things within it. Respect of the space and its inhabitants are paramount. No one should enter the sacred space without appointment or expressed consent. This applies to messengers, landlords, police, or anyone who may attempt unauthorized entry.
Abrupt actions and loud noises unrelated to work should be avoided. Doors and cupboards should never be slammed - close them as if you might wake a sleeping baby. All respect should be given a worker completing a task. Walk through the sacred space as if you were walking through a silent, narrow hallway connecting you to your destination. Do not become distracted by the work of others unless asked to do so.
This sanctity is what guides our discipline and helps us Follow the Rules. All Sacred Spaces have rules. One of the most important ways that a Sacred Space is different from other spaces are the zealous adherence to the rules. The rules will change over time, as we Learn from Failure. It is critically important to make sure you know the rules and follow them.
These rules will protect us from the worst failures and the Tragedy of the Commons.
